투뿔등심 reloaded

투뿔등심, the steak BBQ restaurant that I reviewed back in April 2012, the only place to receive a 10-rating, opened a second location.  The original location opened in December 2011 and due to the overwhelming success, they opened a second location 4-months later!  See below link for my previous, more detailed write-up:

Like it says on the wall, they don’t charge a corkage fee for bringing your own wine.  They also have bottles of wine on the menu that have very little markup, practically the same as buying from the store.

They were nice enough to give us some parmesan cheese as service to go with our wine.

KRW 29,000 for 150 grams (5.3 ounces) of aged sirloin steak.  It is a great deal compared to other BBQ places that offer high quality beef, those places charge anywhere from KRW 40,000 to 60,000 per serving.  I haven’t been to those other places but the quality and taste of the meat at 투뿔등심 is outstanding!

Pictures of a 3-serving order, 450 grams or 15.9 ounces.  They don’t skimp on their portions, it’s totally legit, and look at the marbling!

It’s always better to season your meat before cooking, I sprinkled some of the course ground salt.

You should also let the meat rest before cooking so that it comes down to room temperature and let the meat sit for 5-10 minutes after cooking.  If you cut into the meat during the cooking process and/or immediately after its done cooking, all the juices flow out.

Perfect medium-rare!  I can not express in words how good the meat tastes.  I like it better than going to a nice steakhouse because most of them baste the meat with butter during cook and I feel that is cheating.  If you put enough butter on an old shoe, you could make it taste good.  The meat here is in its purest form, you experience the meat for all it’s glory.

Beef brisket fried rice KRW 18,000.  It is such a rip-off but you some need to carbs to round out the meal.  A friend gave me a tip of asking them to stir-fry the rice 2-times because it normally comes out with very little color to the rice and bland.  They probably just use more red pepper paste and more oil to stir-fry the rice but it comes out a much better product.

… a good time and great meal was had by all!

I absolutely love this place, I have already been here 5-times and I can’t wait to go back.  Yes, it is still expensive but you will not regret the money spent on your meal!

Rating:  10 out of 10.

How many people did you go with? I’m planning on going with a friend and I’m wondering if 1 order of the 한우 will be enough
