Food + Soju + Good Times
I saw this BBQ restaurant on a Naver food blog that I follow and this one guy loves this place! He’s blogged about this place 7 times in the last 1 1/2 years and always rates it a 10. I wanted to see for myself what all the fuss was about.
They give you a lot of side dishes, it was pretty impressive. Of course we didn’t touch most of them but it’s great to have options at your finger tips.
Gotta have a soup to wash down the grease and soju.
The beef prices are on top and the pork on the bottom.
The beef prices were on the high side so we got the 모듬부위 for KRW 34,000, which is 4 different cuts of pork.
This restaurant gives everyone some 차돌박이 as service. It was a nice little surprise and delicious.
목살 or the meat from the neck area of the pig. It’s very similar to a pork chop, tough and dry. I like it because it doesn’t have too much fat like pork belly, I feel less guilty.
돼지갈비 or pork rib meat. This cut has some fat lining so it was more tender than the previous cut.
항정살 or pork jowl meat. You can see the fat marbled within the meat, very tender and juicy. I was so busy eating that I forgot to grab a picture after it was done cooking. My apologies.
삼겹살 or pork belly. If you are reading this blog then you don’t need an explanation. When you are going to eat different cuts of meat, you should start with the leanest and move onto the fattiest. Otherwise, the lean meats will seem so dry and tough after a high-fat cut like pork belly.
All the cuts of pork were good but nothing really stood out. But then again, we didn’t have problems with anything. The pork prices were good and the service was excellent. It’s a place to get your grill on with no fuss.
